It was a time where tensions rose between the Western Bloc, with the United States by NATO. Among their allies were the Eastern Bloc dominated by the USSR along with the Warsaw Pact. This began after their temporary success wartime alliance with Nazi, Germany leaving Russia and the U.S. as two profound superpowers. A neutral faction arose among the powers with the Non- Aligned Movement founded by Egypt, Yugoslavia, and India.
